WINTERSPRING FARM STALLIONS

We have two beautiful Stallions that were born here on WinterSpring Farm. Ethan and Denzel were both foaled in 2001. Although they are not brothers, the competition between the two is fierce. Just when we think one has out done the other we are pleasantly surprised by the other.

Ethan of WinterSpring

Ethan is a three year old stallion. He was born here at WinterSpring Farm. He is out of Liskje van Bourboom, and is sired by the 2002 World Champion of the Stallion Keuring in Holland, Jasper (366). Although Jasper was bested by Sape in 2001, Jasper was the favorite of the fans in 2001, and in 2002 Jasper won his crown as a World Champion. Jasper is now on top of the world again as the worlds leading Friesian stallion on the stallion index. This is as good as it gets!  Jasper, the same stallion that whipped the audience at the central stallion show in Leeuwarden into a screaming cheering frenzy with his miracle trot, now has proved through his offspring to be just as excellent as a transmitter of those riveting characteristics. Ethan does his father proud. He has that same athletic trot and presence. Ethan at three years stands 16.1 hands tall. Watch out for this one!

Denzyl of WinterSpring

Denzyl is also a three year old stallion. He too was born here at WinterSpring Farm. His dam is Arlene and his sire was also a World Champion at the Stallion Keuring, Sape. The year was 2001, and Sape, the youngest of all the studbook stallions, became the World Champion at the Stallion Keuring in Leuwarden. I was there that night. The fans were packed to overflowing in the FEC where the judging took place - seats were completely sold out. The enthusiasm of the Friesian fans was absolutely overwhelming. The crowd was on its feet, standing on the benches cheering for their favorite of the last three: Folkert (twice World Champion before); Jasper (the darling of the audience) and Sape. In the end, the young and dazzling stallion, Sape prevailed. His son, Denzyl is classic Friesian. His bloodlines are impeccable. Denzyl and Ethan have always been competitors here and it is impossible to choose between them. Just when you think one has the best trot, the other makes a pass that makes your hair stand up! Denzyl is also very tall and stands 16.1 at the age of 3.

Denzyl was status as  a "STAR" stallion at the 2004 Keuring held at Ironspring Farm on September 15, 2004.
